about

I was born in Canada in 1985 and live in Golden, British Columbia with my dog Slayer. I enjoy listening to music, audiobooks, hiking, snowboarding, year-round camping and spending time with friends and family. When I’m not painting or exploring the mountains near my home I enjoy travelling to different cities around the world. I love the unknown. Exploring nature or a city I’ve never been to is exciting. Seeing art, listening to live music, viewing different architecture, trying local cuisine, meeting new people, having new experiences, gaining perspective and growing are important aspects of my life.

Making art for me is very meditative. Being in a flow state and letting inspiration guide me is an incredible feeling. Painting has taught me to enjoy and trust the process, and I do my best to practice that with everything I do.

In my ‘Home’ series I’m combining architecture in a wild landscape with my dog and wildlife.  I’m interested in the blurred lines between the contemporary world we inhabit, and living in harmony with nature. I have a strong sense of nostalgia or being home when I’m in the wilderness and I try to bring those feelings into the paintings and recreate some of that magic that is so special. Beauty and inspiration is everywhere and it’s fulfilling being able to share what’s meaningful to me. The possibilities are endless.

We share this planet with so many different beings. It’s not only the human perspective I’m interested in, I admire wildlife and I’m curious in how animals experience the world. They have mysterious lives that we only get glimpses of and I like exploring this with my paintings.  I see myself in these creatures and as the painting is created the narrative often becomes more clear. It evolves over time with the characters gaining a deeper meaning and through that they become symbols for an expanded understanding.
